"He's got abs in his brain." Oh, I am SO using that line. I like how the first impression of Cypher was "he sounds boring"; they're not wrong, but I'm surprised you didn't mention Cypher's heroic death when he took a bullet meant for Wolfsbane after pushing her out of the way.

Cloak and Dagger fighting Spider-Man wasn't just the old Marvel trope of heroes fighting each other; Spidey disapproved of their violent way of dealing with criminals, so that put them at odds on many occasions.

Interesting the girls mentioned Jacob Conover; he's one of the multitude of guys who used the identity of the Rose. Siskoid, I'm sure you've read the famous "Kid Who Collected Spider-Man" story ... Conover was the reporter who wrote the article that first brought the kid to Spider-Man's attention.

On Cypher's death, I didn't remember it (still don't). Last time I saw him he was alive and well.

Cloak and Dagger: Potayto Potahto. Whatever reason they give, it's still heroes fighting, isn't it?

Cypher was killed in New Mutants #60 (and #61 had a weird epilogue where everyone else was in mourning, but Warlock was walking around with Doug's corpse in his arms, trying to understand the concept of death).

When Warlock was killed during the X-Tinction Agenda, his ashes were spread on Doug's grave and that somehow brought Warlock back as a weird techno-organic composite of the two, called Douglock.

Later, Doug was resurrected for real (In X-Force Volume 3), but I had quit reading by then, so I'm not sure what happened afterwards.
