One Panel #138-140: Strange Creatures

From "The Batman Wars Against the Dirigible of Doom" by Bill Finger, Gardner Fox, Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff, Detective Comics #33 (November 1939)

Was the Golden Age Batplane, the BEST Batplane? Yes, yes, I think it was.

From Adventures Into the Unknown: "A Thousand Years a Minute (Part II)" by Carl H. Claudy and Stan Aschmeier, All-American Comics #9  (December 1939)

You think the poachers we have TODAY are bad? Look at what these two did. We're not talking about an animal on the VERGE of extinction, are we?

From Detective Sergeant Carey: "The Voodoo Vengeance" by Joe Donohoe, More Fun Comics #49 (November 1939)

Just what kind of a club is this?

Just a few more out-of-context panels for you kind people as 1940 looms.

That last panel calls to mind that line from the 1982 Conan movie: "years ago it was just another snake cult."

Trying to figure out that last panel is probably going to occupy way too much of my thought process. (Does it at least make sense in context?)
