This Week in Geek (10-16/11/08)

Buys

Got me the new Futurama movie, Bender's Game, Torchwood's second (superior) series, and An American Werewolf in London, just cuz I've started accumulating the few horror movies I actually like. Over in the books section, I've added Michael Chabon's The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, just cuz I'm fresh out of Chabon.

"Accomplishments"

After losing momentum on our GURPS Space RPG project, we've laid a new egg: GURPS Torg! With the added bonus of having an incomprehensible name, this uses the Torg set-up, one of battling realities attacking Earth simultaneously, with my multitude of GURPS books. Instead of setting up the world and asking players to pick character types from there, I've asked the players to first choose GURPS books to act as the various realities. The next couple weeks will be used to create characters and the world made up of our Earth, Arabian Nights, Reign of Steel (think Terminator's future), Vikings, Star Wars (Tattooine New Hope era only), Steampunk, World of Darkness (the character will be a werewolf), and a combination Cliffhangers/Weird War II/low Supers.

New Unauthorized Doctor Who CCG cards: 22, all from The Brain of Morbius. Plus the starter pack art for Lords of Time:
Someone Else's Post of the Week
Dorian goes though the genre sections of his local bookstore looking for something to read, the result is Postmodern Barney's funniest post in months. Fiction Fails Me is a must-read.

Yes it does.

However, I meant in London. Fixed!
